How Our Hand Knotted Rugs Are Made
THE DESIGNAll of our rugs designs come from the same designs we use for our wallpapers. We’ll work with you to find out your requirements, and can adjust the design sizes to best fit with what you need. Take the 'Glyph - Giza' design for example: the dimensions of your required rug may allow for the design repeat to just simply be scaled up to match the size you want. Alternatively, the design can adjusted to have less columns, or be shorter in length, to have a reduced number (but larger) patterns - whatever fits with your vision.
We’ll send you a ‘design proof’ to confirm how you want the rug design to be. Once confirmed we’ll send a ‘tech sheet’ to our rug manufacturer to indicate all the design and technical information. Your rug will then start to be prepped ready for its production. |

Everything from dying and treating the yarns at the very beginning, to the precise and very skilled time consuming task of hand knotting on the loom, through to the 2 stages of washing, and 2 stages of clipping and cutting, before the binding at the final stage.
